I believe this photo was taken around 1895 based on the estimated ages of the children in the photo. The youngest girl is thought to be Nellie Ray and looks to be about 4 years old. She was born in 1891.
There is only one years age difference between the two older girls so identification is not as easy. On first appearance the girl on the right look taller and therefore could be assumed to be older but on closer inspection she is standing and the girl in the middle sitting. I believe the girl in the middle to be the older and therefore I have identified her as Eva Blanche (8 years old) and her younger sister as Alice Mary (7 years old).
The photo was taken in Kyneton by the same photographer as the unidentified school. There are two markings on the back of the photo. One is very fine and written in the old style of handwritting. The other is more modern and written in Pencil. Both marking record the name "Alice Donelly".
Note: Alice Donelly was responsible for collecting most of the photos in this collection.
Names at the bottom but you can also run your mouse each individual for identification (leave over for few seconds)
