This photo was taken in the early 1900s. The girl on the right is now a young lady of around 16-18 years of age. This is another picture of the girl identified as Alice in the last picture. The backdrop is identical to that use in the first picture of the three young girls but on close inspection the pot plant in the "tin" on the right has grown substantially confirming a considerable passage of time between the photographs. The younger girl is assumed to be Fanny (12 years old)
The photo was taken in Kyneton by the same photographer as the unidentified school. There is one very important marking on the back of the photo.
"To Dear Fanny with best love from Mother (Fanny Branson)"
This is confusing because Fanny Branson can only be Frances (Fanny) Phoebe Branson nee Donelly born 1837. Such an notation would suggest a picture of Mother and daughter but based on the age of the photograph and the subjects neither Frances Phoebe or her daughter Fanny Jane Donelly nee Branson are in the photo. Perhaps Frances Phoebe had this picture of two of her grandchildren taken and gave it to her daughter.
The whole thing is made more confusing by the reoccurrence of surnames due to the fact that Fanny Jane Branson married her first Cousin William John Donelly.
